Brazil Passport Photo 50mm x 70mm requirements

Dimensions & Format

• Size: Standard 5x7 cm.
• Head Size: The length from chin to forehead must be between 31mm and 36mm.
• Recency: Must be a color photo taken within the last 6 months.
• Reuse: Photos used in previous passports will not be accepted.

Composition & Pose

• Background: Plain white.
• Position: Taken from the front; face and shoulders must be completely framed.
• Eye Contact: Look directly at the camera with eyes open and clearly visible.
• Expression: Must have a neutral facial expression.
• Lighting: No reflections, penumbras, or shadows on any part of the photo.

Attire & Accessories

• Glasses: Generally discouraged. Lenses cannot reflect light, and frames cannot be thick or flashy. Sunglasses are strictly prohibited.
• Headwear: Not permitted except for religious reasons, and even then, they must not prevent a perfect view of the face.
• Children: Must not appear with bows, pacifiers, toys, or the hands of people holding them.

Infant-Specific Guidelines

The Consulate acknowledges the difficulty of photographing babies and will accept "home" photos for them provided they have:

• Good lighting.
• A white background (e.g., placing the baby on a white sheet).
• The baby looking at the camera with eyes open.

Important Note

Do not crop the photo. The physical photo should be submitted as printed (5x7 cm) without manual trimming.
