1. Core Technical Specifications (The "Hard" Requirements)

  • Quantity: Three (3) identical photos must be submitted with the application.
  • Dimensions: * Official Size: 4 cm x 6 cm.
  • Background: Solid, plain white. No patterns, shadows, or colors are permitted.
  • Recency: Photos must be taken within the last six (6) months to ensure an accurate likeness.

2. Composition and Framing

  • Alignment: The applicant must face the camera directly (frontal view). Profiles or "three-quarter" views are not accepted.
  • Head Position: The head must be level and centered in the frame.
  • Eyes: Eyes must be open, level, and looking directly at the lens.

3. Facial Expression & Appearance ("Soft" Requirements)

  • Expression: A neutral facial expression is required. The mouth should be closed. Avoid smiling, frowning, or squinting.
  • Glasses:
    • It is highly recommended to remove glasses to avoid rejection.
    • If worn, there must be no glare on the lenses and the frames must not obscure any part of the eyes.
    • Tinted lenses or sunglasses are strictly prohibited.
  • Headgear:
    • Head coverings are only permitted for religious reasons (e.g., Hijab).
    • The covering must not cast shadows on the face, and the entire face—from the bottom of the chin to the top of the forehead—must be clearly visible.
  • Hair: Hair should not cover the eyes or the edges of the face.

4. Lighting and Image Quality

  • Brightness/Contrast: The photo must have appropriate brightness and contrast to show natural skin tones.
  • Shadows: There must be no shadows on the face or on the background behind the head.
  • Quality: The photo must be printed on high-quality photographic paper with high resolution. Pixilation, "noise," or ink-jet dots are not acceptable.
  • No Alterations: Digital retouching (removing moles, scars, or changing facial features) is strictly forbidden.

5. Dress Code Tips

  • Contrast: Since the background is white, avoid wearing white or very light-colored clothing. Darker colors provide better contrast and image clarity.
  • Uniforms: Avoid wearing uniforms or clothing that looks like a uniform, unless it is for religious purposes.

6. Requirements for Children & Infants

  • Solo Subject: The child must be the only person in the frame. No hands (from parents) or toys should be visible.
  • Position: For infants who cannot sit, they may be photographed lying on a plain white sheet, ensuring no shadows fall on their face.
  • Eyes: For very young infants, it is preferable for the eyes to be open, though some leniency is occasionally applied for newborns.
