Quantity: 1 copy (for counter applications).
2. Composition and Lighting
Background: Must be plain white with no shadows, patterns, or objects visible.
Pose: Full-face view, looking directly at the camera with both ears visible (if possible).
Expression: Neutral expression with the mouth closed (no teeth showing).
Lighting: Even lighting across the face; no "red-eye" or flash reflections on the skin or glasses.
3. Appearance and Attire
Headwear: Generally not allowed (no hats, caps, or headbands), except for religious or medical reasons.
Glasses: Highly recommended to remove them. If worn, frames must not cover the eyes, and there must be no glare on the lenses.
Hair: Must not cover the eyes or eyebrows.
Clothing: Avoid wearing white or very light-colored clothing to ensure a clear contrast with the white background. Avoid uniforms or official attire.
4. Digital Submission (Macao One Account)
"My Photos" Feature: Residents can use photos taken at contracted photography studios. These studios provide a receipt with a QR code that allows the digital photo to be uploaded directly to the "Macao One Account" for use in passport applications.
Self-Service Kiosks: If applying in person in Macao, you can choose to have your photo taken on-site at a DSI kiosk at no extra cost.
5. Special Requirements for Children
Infants: Must be the only person in the photo (no hands or toys visible). For very young infants, they may be placed on a plain white sheet.
Eligibility: Online application via the "Macao One Account" is generally only available for children aged 5 or older on the date their current ID was issued.
