Malaysia Passport Photo 35mm x 50mm requirements

Dimensions: Exactly 35mm wide x 50mm high.
Head Size: The distance from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head must be between 25mm and 30mm.
Background: Plain white or off-white. There must be no shadows, patterns, or colors in the background.
Quantity: Typically two (2) or three (3) identical, high-quality color photographs.
Recency: Photos must be taken within the last 6 months.

Clothing: You must wear dark-colored clothing that covers the shoulders and chest. This provides the necessary contrast against the white background.
Facial Expression: A neutral expression is required. Keep your mouth closed (no teeth showing) and eyes open and looking directly at the camera.
Hair: Forehead and ears must be visible. Long hair should be tucked behind the ears or tied back to ensure the full face is exposed.
Eyeglasses: You are generally required to remove eyeglasses to avoid glare and ensure eyes are clearly visible.
Jewelry: It is advised to remove prominent jewelry, including large earrings or necklaces, before the photo is taken.

Religious Exceptions: Head coverings (like the hijab/tudung) are only permitted for religious reasons.
Color: The head covering must be dark in color.
Visibility: The covering must not obscure the face, cast shadows, or cover the forehead. The full face from the chin to the top of the forehead must be visible.

Format: JPEG or PNG.
Resolution: Minimum 300 DPI.
File Size: Generally between 50KB and 1MB (some systems may require smaller files under 100KB).
