1. Core Photo Specifications

• Size: 4 x 6 cm (standard Vietnamese passport size).
• Recency: Must be taken within the last 6 months.
• Background: Plain white background. No patterns, shadows, or other objects should be visible.
• Format: Digital files should be in JPG/JPEG format.
• File Size: Typically less than 2 MB (some portals specify 1024 KB).
• Resolution: High quality, minimum 300 dpi.

2. Composition and Framing

• Pose: Head must be centered and facing directly forward (no tilting or side profiles).
• Coverage: Should include a close-up of the head and top of the shoulders.
• Head Size: The face should occupy approximately 70–80% of the frame.
• Eyes: Must be open and looking directly at the camera lens.

3. Appearance and Attire

• Expression: Neutral facial expression (mouth closed, no smiling or frowning).
• Eyewear: It is highly recommended to remove glasses. If you must wear them, they cannot be tinted, and there must be no glare/reflection on the lenses.
• Headwear: Hats, caps, or headbands are not allowed. Exceptions are made for religious headscarves (e.g., hijab), provided they do not obscure any part of the face from forehead to chin.
• Clothing: Formal or casual attire is fine, but avoid white clothing as it may blend into the white background. Uniforms are generally prohibited.
• Hair: Should be tucked behind the ears or styled so that the entire face and hairline are visible.
